Rosalind Neville Baker was born in Brisbane.
Both grandmothers were first violinists with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra at various times. Her father played the violin and her mother was an opera singer, hence classical music was an integral part of her upbringing.
During the fifties Rosalind’s father owned trochus boats and pearling Luggers based at Thursday Island. She lived in Cairns and after attending school in Cairns was a boarder at St Mary’s Anglican School Herberton.
Although for most of her working life Rosalind owned businesses, she wrote 3 best selling books in the late eighties and was the Women’s Editor of a suburban newspaper.
Although her working life was in Melbourne she and her husband Tom Baker rediscovered Cairns and moved here in September 2014.
Rosalind brings you a fresh look at old classical musical with a sprinkling of newly composed classicals too.
