Following a massively successful debut, Australia’s most exciting new music and camping festival Savannah in the Round officially returns to Tropical North Queensland in 2022, featuring a line-up packed with the best country, rock, roots and pop acts from Australia and overseas.

Leading 2022’s huge line-up is none other than global country music superstar Brad Paisley, who over the past 20 years has earned his place in country music history as one of the genre’s most talented and decorated male solo artists, with numerous awards, including three GRAMMYs, two American Music Awards, 14 Country Music Association Awards and 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, among many others.

Joining Paisley is homegrown country boy Adam Brand, Absolutely Everybody’s favourite popstar Vanessa Amorosi, iconic folksters The Waifs, Aussie rock idol Shannon Noll, the inimitable Jon Stevens, and rock legend Tex Perkins performing his critically acclaimed show ‘The Man in Black’.

Further broadening the event’s scope is Yolngu Surf-Rock outfit King Stingray, rising folk rock duo Pierce Brothers, classic Aussie rockers like Richard Clapton, Ross Wilson, The Black Sorrows and more, alongside all the country hitmakers of the moment like McAlister Kemp, Rachael Fahim, Darlinghurst, Southbound, James Johnston, Kirsty Lee Akers, The Buckleys and Blake O’Connor.

Fresh from making national headlines in 2021, serving over 11,000 music fans and implementing Australia’s first in-festival vaccination hub, Savannah in the Round will again descend on the Mareeba Rodeo Arena in September/October, for three days of live music, entertainment, an Indigenous cultural program, visual art displays, local produce and goods, paddock to plate dining options, fun fair activities, camping and more — this time with international star power!

A full range of accommodation options are available to enable patrons to experience the event however they like, from drive-in DIY campsites, a pre-constructed tent village or deluxe on-site glamping, right through to luxury hotel options and transfers through accommodation partners in Cairns and Port Douglas.

Whether travelling on a shoestring or looking for all five stars, Savannah in the Round visitors are encouraged to extend their stay and take in the incredible natural wonders and attractions the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef region has to offer, including the world’s oldest unspoilt rainforest, pristine beaches, stunning waterfalls and diverse wildlife.

Cairns is an ideal base from which to experience Tropical North Queensland – whether island hopping by sailboat, scuba diving shipwrecks, hot air ballooning above the Tablelands, indulging in fresh local seafood and produce, getting better acquainted with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history, taking a classic overland adventure via Savannah Way, or simply basking in the heavenly weather and scenery; there’s something for every taste and budget.

With a line-up of over 30 artists so far, including industry legends and current chart-toppers, this three-day, four-night Tropical North Queensland celebration is set to be the premier destination event for music and camping fans next September and October.
