Passport To Airlie Cairns Final Hots Up
This year sees Cairns FM 89.1 first involvement with the National Music Competition, “Passport To Airlie” which sees one lucky band to head off to Airlie Beach in November to perform and compete against the other cities at the Airlie Beach Festival Of Music. Organised by Head Of Musicview TV and Studio Hutch, Kris Hutchinson and hosted by local musician and institution Bobby Maguire, the competition has seen some great bands out of FNQ head to Airlie in previous years. Last years winners Manuka said it was a great experience and hope to repeat at this years finals.
Landing in this years finals is Vivian Aisi, Abi Muir, Tessa Devine, Manuka, The Juliettes, Wasabi Barbie, Katie Richards Band, and Declan Murray Brown. This years Airlie Beach Festival Of Music sees some great artists such as The Animals, Bee Lee, Eskimo Joe, Rogue Traders, Innocent Eve and more.
The final is on this Sunday 28th August at The Jack from 12pm. If you want to see the best Original Music that Cairns currently has to offer, this is your night. Make sure to say hello to Baz and Deveski from the FNQ Originals who will be down there judging the competition.
