Hostage is a fictional thriller told through the perspective of Rachel Benson, a twenty-five[1]year-old Brisbane woman who is abducted at gunpoint when she accidently stumbles across an armed robbery gone wrong. As the robbery falls apart one of the three gunmen takes Rachel hostage as insurance, forcing her at gunpoint to accompany the criminals on a crime spree that spans three Australian states. What unfolds is how Rachel faces her fear as she spends time in the company of the three criminals and is forced to question her own morals as she finds her outlook on both her life and her view of the criminals changing. There’s a bit of a thrill seeker buried inside all of us and this story teaches us that if you’re open to it, you might have the adventure of a lifetime and emerge a different version of yourself. Hostage will entertain and thrill the reader, offering an escape from life alongside the main character, Rachel.
